Laura's Certifications and Credentials
Laura graduated summa cum laude with her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, California. Laura chose to pursue her training in California, as it is one of the few states where acupuncturists are legally Primary Care Providers.
During her rigorous, 3200+ hour formal training, Laura studied under the tutelage of talented practitioners from around the world, including Dr. Hua-Ling Xu, Dr. Benny Zhang, Dr. Emmie Zhu, and Dr. Glenn Oberman. Upon graduation, Laura passed the California Acupuncture Board and became a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of California.
All states except for California rely on the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) to ensure practitioners have received proper training. Laura is nationally certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine by NCCAOM. This certification indicates that Laura's training includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, and western biomedicine.
Laura is licensed in the state of Colorado as a Licensed Acupuncturist by the Department of Regulatory Agencies.
Laura specializes in the treatment of both psychoemotional health, and women’s health.
Laura is dedicated to pursuing advanced education beyond the continuing education requirements mandated by the state of Colorado. Along with other courses, Laura spent two years studying Five Element Acupuncture and Shen-Hammer Pulse Diagnosis under the tutelage of Lonny Jarrett, a master diagnostician and practitioner. This style of acupuncture focuses on integration of the mind, body, and spirit. Shen-Hammer Pulse Diagnosis is widely recognized as the most comprehensive form of pulse diagnosis practiced in the United States today.
